Education (CME) programs and services to support the lifelong learning of

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) has
designated IMQ/CMA California’s intrastate agency to accredit hospitals,
ambulatory care clinics, specialty societies, health plans, and other health
care organizations providing AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.

IMQ offers physicians a convenient, voluntary service to record and verify
the AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ required by the Medical Board of California (MBC)
for re-licensure. In the case of a random audit, the MBC will accept
verification of CME credits, with no additional documentation, for any physician
using the CME Certification service.

IMQ provides consulting services to organizations that wish to establish a
CME program or improve an existing program. Physician surveyors demonstrate how
compliance with IMQ/CMA Accreditation criteria and policies can serve as a
foundation for managing a successful CME program.

IMQ assists in achieving and maintaining CME accreditation by providing
information, tools, and continuing education. The CME Essentials workshop covers
the fundamentals of achieving and maintaining compliance with accreditation
requirements, while the CME Provider Annual Conference helps to enhance CME
programs by featuring best practices, trends, and changes in requirements.

Each year, IMQ enters into joint provided agreements, allowing
non-accredited CME providers to award AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for CME
activities. The organizations must meet IMQ criteria for joint provided activities, and
pay is based on the complexity of the activities.
