IMQ/CMA offers a number of workshops, conferences, and written communications
to accredited providers and those interested in pursuing CME accreditation.
IMQ CME Provider Annual Conference
The CME Provider Annual Conference takes place in the spring, alternating
between northern and southern California locations. The conference features best
practices for planning, conducting and evaluating CME activities, as well as new
requirements and clarification of existing CME requirements. The conference
encourages CME professionals to engage in learning from surveyors, expert
faculty, and each other.

CME Essentials Workshop
The next CME Essentials Workshop will take place on Friday, September 8, 2017. It will be held at the San Mateo County Medical Society, San Mateo, CA. To Register: imq.inreachce.com
This one-day workshop focuses on the fundamentals of planning and evaluating a CME activity. It is designed for physicians (CME chairs, committee members, faculty or speakers), CME Coordinators, nurses and other medical staff and education professionals involved in planning CME activities who are new to CME or who are seeking a refresher. At the completion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Apply IMQ/CMA accreditation requirements to plan and evaluate CME activities and to improve your CME program
- Use a planning process that assesses available data/information to identify professional practice gaps (PPGs) and incorporates educational needs in terms of Knowledge, Competence or Performance that underlie the gap(s).
- Design activities to change Competence, Performance or Patient Outcomes (Expected Results/Learning Objectives).
- Use evaluation tools that are effective in measuring change in Competence, Performance or Patient Outcomes.
- Analyze data to determine changes in learners Competence, Performance or Patient Outcomes as a result of your overall CME program.
- Make decisions and document compliance with the Standards of Commercial Supportsm (SCS) for disclosure information, resolving Conflict of Interests, and managing commercial support and promotion/exhibitors.
- Integrate relevant CLC disparities into the planning of CME activities.
