IMQ offers consultations and education programs to help physicians
effectively fulfill their role in promoting quality of care in hospital and
other settings. These programs , designed to meet the needs of medical staffs or
individual departments, address a range of topics such as quality measurement,
peer review, and credentialing and privileging.
Physician consultants also design custom education programs to meet specific
needs, such as:
- An orientation for physicians who are new to leadership roles
- Training executive committees and department chiefs to improve the
effectiveness of quality and patient safety functions
- Helping medical staff understand compliance and data use requirements
Programs usually range from one to four hours of instruction. Custom
education can include handout materials and, on occasion, CME joint or
Following a conversation to assess the goals and needs of a medical staff or
medical group, IMQ will draft a proposal describing the services and identifying
possible consultants and listing fees.
“Physicians who are considering a role as a leader in the medical staff
organization should have a working knowledge of the activities performed by
members of the MEC, and the various hospital medical staff committees.
This is so important, we made it a requirement that every member of the MEC
undergo 4 hours of CME every other year, related to medical staff processes.
The IMQ was excellent in designing a program that covered PEER review and
Credentialing for our yearly retreat. The program was interactive,
informative and left everyone with the feeling that they will be able to do a
much better job, as they represent their respective departments.”
