Child Abuse Prevention CME and CE Free Online Course

Posted on 6/27/2017 by Institute for Medical Quality

Thanks to a grant from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), IMQ is pleased to offer, free of charge, an excellent course on Child Abuse Prevention, Recognition and Reporting. Upon completion of the course, you will receive continuing education credits commensurate with your degree.

Physicians and other healthcare professionals are mandated by law to report suspected child abuse and neglect, but not all healthcare professionals receive adequate training. Many physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who interface with children may not always recognize the signs and symptoms of child abuse and/or neglect, and/or know how to properly report findings. This course, created by the Child Abuse Prevention Center in Sacramento, helps to close the knowledge gap. It is designed for physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who practice in California and who regularly or occasionally treat pediatric patients.

This on-line course is available exclusively to licensed California physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Under the terms of the grant, the course is not accessible through our open catalogue and requires this pre-registration of the following information:

Degree (e.g., MD, DO, RN, PhD, LCSW, MSW)

Email address:

After you complete the pre-registration you will receive an email with the link to the full registration that lets you access the course.

We hope you will take advantage of this valuable training opportunity.
